Placed one by one on the knitted battlefield,
Paved with the blankets sewn by their mothers,
Soldiers freeze in their courage.
The courage and cries of battle are still pulsing but they feel--what is the word…
Human.
Just for a second.
See their parent’s faces
Play with a dog
Remember their 18th birthday party with presents like it was yesterday.
For some it was,
and here they are now,
in the present.
A speck of lint with dust bombs that will only make more dead skin cells than before.
