You can tell many things from one person’s hands
size, age, woman or mans.
An inspiring man with memorable hands
former Rutgers football player Eric LeGrand.
Catching footballs as they fly though the air
a pout on his face is something very rare.
But one day out of the blue
his life changed, he became someone new.
His hands could no longer be used
an injury that left him with more than a bruise.
In a wheelchair he remains his hands placed out in front of him
his personality is definitely never dim.
Large and bold his hands remain
but now he plays a much different game.
A couple twitches upon his fingertips
“bELieve” is what always comes out of his lips.
I have met him many times, a friendship we do share
his stationary hands are what struck me in his wheelchair.
Although he cannot move them, a touching part of him they are
his encouraging words of wisdom will never be too far.
Inspiring people day by day
I know his presence will never be far away.
He has touched more people now than he has ever done before
so the hands that are placed in front of him are the ones I truly adore.
