lunar love
You never quite understood my passion
for the universe
Brushing off my musings of
the vastness of the moon and the light
of the stars as mere childlike intrigue
Until one night I held your
hand and said,
"You know how much I love the
moon? Well I love you even more."
You shook your head in slow
protest as I continued assuredly,
"Because the moon is bright
and breathtaking but
the moon does not know my favorite
songs, the reasoning behind
my constant apologizing, or how to hold me.
I love you so much more because
Your body was sculpted by The Creator
of my beloved heavens and
our minds fit together like pieces of a puzzle."
You are my constant, my guiding
light, my moon.
