three two one
Before he left I started
numbering the days we had
together, but while I
was counting down
I was also adding up the
things I would miss
the most like pedal-to-the-floor
adrenaline rushes, the way his
words slipped softly through
his lips when he indulged me
in conversations about the stars,
or the crinkle of his nose
accompanied by a lightningbolt
flash of humor in his
eyes when he knew he was
about to make me laugh.
We've been this way for two
years and the other day I had
to ask him what color
his eyes were and I don't want
to let him go before
I have every single piece of
him committed to
memory.
