A Stolen Smile
I am slowly dying in the inside,
I have tried to stay away from you
But my desire only gets worse.
When I am next to you, I feel weightless.
I feel my whole body rise above the ground beneath me.
And even though we never really talk,
I love you beyond what the English language can describe.
It gets hard sometimes.
And when I see you smile for somebody else.
I cannot help but steal it.
This stolen smile makes me feel warm in the inside.
The butterflies in my stomach are hatching sooner than expected.
I want to hold your whole body close,
And feel your heart beat next to mine.
When I am away, I want you to wait for me to come home to you
Because your love is the reason I live.
I bury my head in my hands.
I allow a thousand winds to blow across
And hope that they blow my love away.
Because I can never be with you.
I can never tell you how I really feel.
I can only stare at you from across the classroom,
I can only wish that your pencil breaks
So I can come to your rescue and give you mine.
So you can give me the warm smile.
The smile that makes me feel weightless
And creates a silent storm in my heart.
It will no longer be a stolen smile,
It will be a smile shared only between the two of us.
With my love burning behind my eyes,
And with my shyness pulling us apart.
