To You, The Monster In Disguise
To you -
you, a person I once trusted.
You, a person I once cared for.
You, a person I once loved.
I remember when we first met.
You seemed strong. But when I
got to know you, I saw another side - a
fractured, broken down, sorrowful side.
There was no one in the world
who would feel pity for you, you said. No one
who would protect you, no one who
cared, no one who loved you. You were alone.
You were wrong.
I wanted to show you that.
I wanted to be the one to protect you.
I wanted to save you more than anything.
I wanted to protect you
from all of the monsters in this life
without realizing that you, too,
were one of them.
