The Moon, Our Friend
Peer up at the moon
It's not there
For its half past noon
But to be fair
The moon has illuminated the skies
For decades, centuries, millennia
When to the sun we bid goodbye,
To the moon we wave hello
The moon has provided comfort
To the lonely ones of the world
On the surface lies a smirking man
But some do say it resembles a girl
In ’69, man set foot on the moon
It was just one small step, but soon
One became two
Two became four
Four became eight
Eight became tens more
What is the moon?
The moon is our friend
Its purpose in existence is to give
Us a gravitational pull
Its orbit never seems to end
