Master crow sat on the leafless tree
Cheese held firmly beneath his talons
A nearby fox smelling his prize
attracted the bird's attention as so
"oh what a pretty bird,
what sleek charcoal feathers."
"Oh what I would give to see them
black against the sky."
and the crow feeling flattered
gave a bow and lifted off
his ebony eyes showing great deviancy
as the cheese fell to the triumphant fox
"Oh mister crow, how naive you have been,
giving into such flattery as though I am your only friend"
the fox took a bite and shuddered
then collapsed on the ground
for there was a reason the cheese
was not held in the crow's beak
