Dawn's Downfall
She strikes the clock with mighty force
newfound hope never seemed lost
the Heavens shine brighter and brighter
her heart grows warmer and warmer
She gazes upon the meadows
flowers take in her sweet smile
the lushious foliage waves
mazes of rivers paint their canvas
She brightens at the hoards of children
the carefree laughter fills the air
energy bursts, evil had vanished
all that’s left are playful shouts
She loosens her lips at the sight of tall towers
urban jungle statues stretch far
among chaos, hills rise up
a peaceful village of tranquility
She wipes crystals away from her cheeks
half hidden in the hills
stares overwhelm, beauty is seen
she masks herself with strands of silk
She yawns wearily
a masterpiece of soft oranges streak her room
sleep was near, but so was he
eyelids struggle to keep up
She closes her eyes, yawning once more
he peeks over the fields, taking in her beauty
she drifts far away from his sight
tears fall onto the earth
He reaches out towards her
there is no hope
there is no happiness
just the lonely darkness that enveloped him
Now with her gone
he could only hope
that someday, someday,
maybe they could meet
