Destiny
When I was a child,
I thought destiny was planned,
And that God knew it,
Like the back of his hand.
My destiny was set,
And not at all brittle,
It could not be changed,
Not even a little.
Any mistake I had made,
Any gift I received,
It was all planned out,
But not by me, I believed.
As I grew older,
I thought that unfair.
I had no control
Even over my hair.
But then I thought,
That maybe my fate,
Was actually in
My hands to create.
So my destiny had not
Been planned by the day.
That I, indeed,
Could have my own say.
