My One Request
Love me like a child would,
For a child’s love is pure,
With innocence that is everlasting-
I could ask for nothing more.
Embrace me like a mother would,
With a warm and tender heart,
Always there with comfort and care,
To piece together what has broken apart.
Guide me like a father would,
Exuding strength and mercy and pride,
There to help me through thick and thin,
Never straying from my side.
This is all I’ve ever wanted,
My one and only request,
So that I may finally dry these tears,
And put this aching heart to rest.
