Pretend
I’m chasing after rainbows,
Even though they have no end,
Yet, still I find, that in this life,
It’s always better to pretend.
There is no point in living,
When life is simply a bore,
For getting up each dreary day,
Would be a chore and nothing more.
Just take a look at the cynics,
Consumed by constant sorrow,
Who complain about today,
Only to do the same tomorrow.
I admit that life’s far from perfect;
Probably the furthest it can be,
Even so, within my humble soul,
It’s the beauty which I choose to see.
