Nights Alone In Your Bed
At night,
Alone,
Silent,
When You draw the veil
Over Your ever-seeing eyes,
And open Your second pair,
The ones that see inside.
That is when You are safe,
In that lonely, noisy place.
You are free,
To laugh at all the things
People would squint at.
To shatter into oblivion,
To wane, to wax,
To cry, To smile,
To wail in Your lonesome flame,
To die, To be born.
That place,
where the coldness of Your bed
doesen't matter,
where You forget to pull the blankets up,
Or that lump in Your pillow.
That little room,
That sprawling world,
That door in Your soul.
That mind that is all Yours.

I hope that this makes you think of how much time you spend in your head, and how, really, we are all living there. to read someones mind would be to read their soul.
