Only you and I can help the sun rise each morning. If we don't, it may drench itself out in sorrow - Joan Baez

Across the sea
Above the grass
I set out to do my task

I’m a paper boy
In the city
In the field
I have to go no matter how I feel

When it’s raining or snowing
Windy and blowing
There I am throwing papers off my bike
Not a job I particularly like

It pays enough so I can go out
The movies, ice cream, candy store
All the things I truly adore

So I’ll keep doing it for now
Sweating on the sunny days, water dripping from my brow
It won’t last forever
Will I take it for granted?
Never!

My father told me about his days as a paperboy, and that is what brought on this poem.
