The Awaiting Dog
Always waiting
No, the dog never left
You may not have ever come again
He stayed
His gift to you
Months passed by slowly, with much pain
The dog was so worn
He had a desire to go home
He could not
Promises are far greater than time
One last month passed on
There you came walking by
His tears burned with sadness
Not even a glance can you give to him
There was somebody else by your side
Wait!
You stared into his scorched eyes and recognized him
No one had to say it, he knew
Goodbye
The dog buried his head into his freezing paws
Then, the misery was lifted

You cannot count on everyone all the time, especially the people you love. It takes a special kind of person to stay around. A dog is very loyal, and he wont ever leave your side.
