Walking through the leaves,
I can smell the fresh Autumn air,
the bright ball of shining hot gas, warm on my face.
I can feel the grass tickling between my toes.

Taking my well established trail to the river, I stroll down the hill.
Slipping, I start to slide down the slippery slope.
Laughing and chortling, I brush myself off.
I can discern the river splashing up against the banks.

I begin my stroll towards the roar of the falls while in the woods.
As I saunter, I can listen to the snap of sticks and twigs that are being stomped on by other animals.

Suddenly, I discern a loud break in a stick before me, I look up and standing there is a deer.
With brown, smooth, sharp antler edges, and velvety ears.
Frozen, I stand there studying him, and he curiously looks back.
Suddenly, quicker that a gazelle fleeing from a roaring lion, it scampers off in the distance

I slowly take a breath.
I keep striding and suddenly I’m there crouching by the rivers edge.
Smiling, I think of the long, journey back home down the winding, twisted river.
Then I thought what a marvelous day it was,
A Fall day.
