My Husband
I stare at your chair,
filling with dust.
I look at the pictures on the wall
and it feels like you are still here.
Now I lay on my side of the bed
and wonder if I'll ever be able to feel
your warmth beside me.
Memories squeeze my heart
It feels like you are still with me.
It is unfair that you're not here.
My heart will never feel the same.
Life as a widow is a heart-less life.
But the Heavens have gained an angel,
my angel.
I'll always remember you as my husband.
Life must go on but you will always be in
my heart.
