Midnight
I lay in bed with a pillow underneath my head and dream awake.
As the stars shimmer through the night sky, they look at me and I look away. As a shooting star flys by, I lay in bed and listen to the gun shots pop threw the cold crisp air.
Listening to the bloody screams of the victims makes my eyes water. Where I'm from , killin ain't no crime and blood stains are in the pavement and the police never show. I try to watch my back when I walk to school but there is always this one fool that tries to grab me , that tries to honk at me, talk to me , take my virginity... I am scared of the darkness that creeps againtst my midnight skin, the strong wind that blows through me and the moon that doesn't like the sky. I am scared of the night, where is my night light?
