3 in the Morning

3 am
pastel stains white pillows,
burgundy walls lit by fairy lights,
vinyls crack as they spin:
Simon and Garfunkel.
3:05
tea drips on blank paper,
bare legs on cold floor,
a blithe feeling.
3:25
hardwood floors creak,
Most Peculiar Man dies down,
paint taints paper.
3:45
muffled yelling from the party next door,
much like them I am drunk.
however,
I’m not intoxicated by alcohol.
