Spring
I sit silently, listening to the singing in the trees
whistling in the wind,
the birds are like a choir creating music
perched on the tall trees that stand above me,
rays of sunshine snoop through the branches,
the leaves acting as my sunglasses.
I see bees floating near,
debarking on flowers ever so gently,
God hard at work creating a picture.
I sit silently, listening to animals
scurrying around on the forest floor,
they play, hunt, run and their lives go on.
I sit silently dreaming, wanting, wishing
to be part of their simple life,
their rough paws scampering across the grass,
the strong smell of pine needles
scattered around the forest,
the sweet ripeness of berries in my mouth,
but I can’t.
I’m stuck in this human form,
from the moment I was born,
until I am no more.
