a Single Tear
look at this face,
and follow it.
follow its wrinkles, its years of distress, and anger and hurt,
follow its angles, and its creases,
follow its crooked nose that has smelled the world's odor,
folllow it to the eyes that hold wisdom, and naivety,
watch as they dip and they curve to hold a single tear,
then watch as this tear trails down,
through the cracked pale lips, that have kissed countless others,
watch as this tear falls off the worn angled chin,
and admire how it free falls throught the air,
like a bird growing wings,
like a child with a dream,
it decends with grace,
now watch, as it splats on the floor,
and as it is forever forgotten.
