Peter Pan
I soar across the neverending sky,
London below me,
Tinkerbell at my side.
Somersaulting, flipping, rotating
around the houses,
around the towers in the sky.
Looking for my shadow
that escaped my body.
I feel an absence without it,
having the desire to find it.
It dashes into a window.
I know that house,
the Darlings live there!
As I float down to their window
I see them fast asleep.
That’s no fun,
they should come with me
to Neverland!
We can have fun forever.
Playing with the lost boys,
swimming with mermaids,
fighting off the terrifying Captain Hook!
I wake them up, gently and quietly
Wendy, John and Michael,
tell them to have faith, trust, and pixie dust!
They smile and I take Wendy’s hand
and lead them off
to the second star on the right
and straight on till morning,
Where we can play in the mysterious island
forever.
