Seashore Beginnings
Your warm fingers caress my soft brown lace locks
tipped in blue
as we lay in the cozy sunshine embrace
free from lingering judgment
you cover me in a blanket of deluxe comfort
awarding me the devotion of your lips
and the promise of your interlocking touch
I feel your smile on my neck
and the rise and fall of your sleepy heart
rejuvenating itself by the emissions of my endorphins
the placidity of our bodies
the proximity of our souls
my arms, skeptical of their position
I exhaled my doubts and suspend my disbelief
for your simple yet complacent stature
gave way to your desire for me.
I swept my gaze over your soft cafe au lait skin
dimpled with imperfections of your youth
for which you've shared with me
a stifled yawn and a hello to your queen
greets me with toasty satisfaction
only comparable to the umber reflection of your eyes
I close mine; an icy ocean met with dusty, feverish sand
