don't be
“I’m sorry,” words that trickle off the tongue even when not at fault.
“I’m sorry,” a repeated apology, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”
“I’m sorry,” a normal response being, “you have nothing to apologize for.”
but isn’t my entire existence in need of an apology?
as my mouth overflows with complaints of things I shouldn’t care about.
“I’m sorry,” a constant worry.
“I’m sorry,” usually followed by an, “I’m probably being annoying.”
“I just didn’t get much sleep, and my head hurts, I’m sorry.”
but I got a full night’s sleep, 8 hours I think? maybe less I can’t remember.
just use it as an excuse to mumble light answers with my eyes closed and head on the table.
“I’m sorry, I’ll leave you alone, I’ll take a nap maybe?”
maybe it’s a joke the devil is playing on me, where everyone says they don’t mind, but they really do.
“I’m sorry.”
“don’t be.”
