Nature
I love the little stream in our backyard down the hill and under
It is a whole new world there and I often stare in awe and wonder.
Watching the clear green water flow, determined to reach its destination yet so tender
Undeterred so flexible making its own way though sticks and stones without a blunder.
Watching the moss hug the stones in perfect harmony around the bender
So peaceful so tranquil so content without a care in the world and yonder
The wondrous sounds of little creatures who found a home in their glorious splendor.
Then it occurred to me how in our little world we rage and waste and plunder.
The chaos the disorder the contempt breaks my little heart asunder.
Cannot nature be our teacher and bring back the faith the love the wonder?
