Lethargic days of futile heat in the suburbs,
Sleepy days culminate idle into dusk.
As darkness lays it’s blanket over, the stars awaken
Shining entities in all their glory
A mere twinkle to the eye
But truly a massive red giant,
1.4 kilometers in diameter, 5 billion years old
Billions of twinkles in existence
Ancient matter.
Precious, signficant.
Distant, enigmatic.
The vast void known to us as space
Pressed heads back against the grassy ground
Gazing into the eternal expanse
Encaptured, enthralled, by the blackened hole
The immenseness of it frightening
We shrink to nothingness,
Merely a grain of sand in the infinite beach.
Insignificant, meaningless creatures
Yet perceived worth valued above the total sum of all the universe’s parts
Petty problems thought to outweigh all supergiants
Black holes exist.  Black holes exist.  Black holes exist.
Annihilating all problems to nothingness
All eminence ever in existance gone.
Diminishing reality to nothingness.
All thoughts gone numb and senseless.
Confused and senseless emptiness,
Followed by a terrifying calamity.
A terrifying calamity washes over all,
A false sense of ease,
A facade only in attempt to comfort.
Silence the noiseless chaos raging through the mind,
The numbness pulsing through the body.
The dichotomy and disconnect disorientate
Attempting to overcome the myopia of all beings,
On this planet we call Earth.
The surreal gaze interrupted by dissonant entropy.
