she stayed in the darkness
lingered within the shadows
The woman of night gave her heart
to a girl who didn’t
know how to feel-
who kept her past on
the tip of her tongue
but her silence was far too loud so
she tucked it inside

woman of night
clothed in sharp words and fresh wounds
open and still bleeding
her eyes still wide and suppressed
the stinging of heartbreak
unravels inside of her chest
