My City MAG
my city
knows its limits but
bends and stretches
far beyond them still
the streets
a bed for the homeless
parked grocery carts
full of belongings
downtown screams
of red
of whiskey and midnight
downtown hollers
cameras in hands
the men and women
shooting dark and light
in a matter of time
my city has had her face
reconstructed, toyed with
made her wrinkles smooth out
my city is tired
still stays awake all night
