Favorite Quote:
They tell us, "destroy what destroys you" and then they get mad when we hurt ourselves

hands clasped and dragged as feet stumble after the words that pour
racing against everything and nothing at once
tiptoes bruised trying to kiss the sky
we believed we were weightless
floating under a cloudless blue
content sighs under sunroofs and skylights
sleep stained kisses, sweet poetry across bare skin
tangled legs and hearts and hair
racing the sun
and (sometimes) winning
triumphantly we beamed
a bright contrast against golf course grass and cooling sand
feet pounding and splashing to avoid downpours
dripping in kisses
lights that blurred, that danced, that exploded, that shone
projected across faces laughing shamelessly
unburdened with the weight of sobriety
spinning in sunlit circles
dizzy and drunk off each other
we were metaphors of ignorance
choosing to ignore the fleeting last drops
of spilt ice cream and carefree love
and so we continued on
driving endlessly
racing alongside the rain
going everywhere and nowhere at once
we were a mosaic of dusk and dawn
of carnival lights and movie screens
of dappled sun
of fleeting rays
and the gaze of green eyes
forever remembered
by the soundtrack of it all
