You step off the plane and every breath of air
is fresh with possibility.
This is your double life:
Back home a well-oiled routine treading old trails
But here you find your own.
These trails are truly yours; if you return you will say
"Look, here are my discoveries, and my footprints
traced this cobblestone path."
And you will walk new trails,
and they will lead you back to where you started, but
you have made so many trails
and every one of them is home.
