I Was Dreaming
You're a dream.
You're fantastical and exciting like nothing else.
There is no end to your adventure or spirit.
The very air around you infects my lungs,
Making me fearless, invincible.
I would remain by your side if the choice was mine.
But then I wake up.
With the blink of an eye, you're gone.
A deceitful illusion disguised behind promises of forever.
You were never here at all.
An artificial touch, a fabricated smile,
A voice that echoed off imaginary walls.
You existed only in my mind, as a daydream, a whisper, a sigh.
You will always be just out of reach.
