The Darkest Storm
It presses down like a storm cloud
Oppressive, stifling
Suffocating
Slowly, it drains you
Until there is nothing left to take
No happiness
No excitement
...nothing
Sometimes
If you are lucky,
It will not last
If you are lucky,
The winds will blow the storm away
Until tendrils of sunlight curl through
And you have something left
Not full,
But not empty either
Just -
...surviving
