No Place
Who ever decided that Night was
less important than Day?
Day just brings us the Sun we are used to,
while Night gives us a tour
of the rest of the universe
America is home to millions of
Nights and Days and Late Afternoons and Early Mornings
and making a group of people feel
they are not welcome
because simply of the person they were born as
will never ever be okay
Dorothy told us
there's no place like home
Tap your ruby shoes together
and the nightmare will end
We must act together to be the ruby shoes
for the people who deserve to feel safe
in the nation they deserve to be in
There is no place in any country
for the only people who are to blame,
the ones who couldn't be more wrong
To the ones who think skin color correlates
with the amount of respect deserved: shame on you.
