Sinking Ships
The Titanic was
The unsinkable ship.
Sixteen compartments.
An incredible feat,
A modern engineering marvel,
They said.
The unsinkable ship,
They said.
(It sunk.)
People are like the Titanic.
Whenever I think
One part of my life
Is drowning in water,
I remember,
The other fifteen compartments,
Full of air.
Safety in sweet oxygen.
And I go on,
With the drifting tide.
(I float.)
I am not the Titanic.
I am the unsinkable ship.
