GRIEF
You used to say “I'll be there for you, even when I’m not”
I never knew what it meant
But somehow now I get it
After you’ve already went
Sometimes I feel like I see you
At bus stops, and on the street
I long for the times we could’ve had
Like walking me down the aisle, and the future grandchildren you will not meet
People say you're with me,
That you're in my heart
But it only feels like emptiness,
Ever since we’ve been apart
The doctors feel guilty
Like they hadn't done enough
They said they’re sorry
But that only made it more rough
I don’t know what i’m going to do without you
You were the person that really got me
You knew what I liked
And you knew what made me happy
I miss everything about you,
Your floppy hair, your smile
So rest easy dad,
I'll see you in a little while
