her heart is a stallion
racing past reality,
her mind dragging behind
on a frayed rope.
her limbs are heavy,
idolized expectations choking spirit
and anchoring will
to the bottom of the blue abyss.
her pale moon eyes scan crowds
of the tranquilized
searching for purpose in their chaos.
nothing exists in this blurry dream
but her soul,
floating,
amidst fractured glass
reflecting an eternal color of
tomorrow.
