War Within
Life is an eternal battle
For someone like me I fight everyday
I fight to do better, to be better, to look better.
I fight to feel
I fight an uphill battle
One I’ll never win
For I am outnumbered tenfold
My opponents have guns, and ships, and bombs
Me? I just have words
And words are no match when you’re against yourself
I’ll fight a mighty war
I might even win some battles
But one day I’ll succumb to the war within
My life is an eternal battle
And the f***ed up part?
No one ever wins
Both sides are me
I battle myself until I’m destroyed
So I’ll continue to fight
To do better, look better, BE better.
To feel
With this false sense that maybe I can win
Until this war within succeeds
