Can You Hear It?
The percussion
The constant beating
Thum-thum
Of the bass
The quick roll
Badadadadada
Of the snare
The instantaneous
Clang
Of the cymbal.
The unceasing
Thum-thum
Of my heart
The quick roll
Badadadadada
Of the blood coursing through my veins
The intstantaneous
Clang
Of every thought that pounds my head at night
The continuous symphony of banging
That tells my body to move
Every molecular movement
Every footstep
Every conversation
Every symphony of banging that tells their bodies to move
The cacophony of life on this earth,
Each organism
Is another connection between drumstick and drum head.
