To Teach

To teach is to be a shining beacon of light,
A guide for all those who wish to follow after,
The trusted friend all students always want to have,
And someone to whom all respect is deservéd.
A true teacher promotes learning over all else
And never turns away a child in need of help.
And when all has gone truly wrong, when stress and
Hardships outweigh all the good- that guide and trusted
Friend, the one who deserves respect, the true teacher
Pushes on through it all to see all those she can
To the very end of all the dreadful darkness.
