Always Remember
I always remember the emotions.
I don’t remember,
Your smile.
Or your words.
But I remember,
The hope.
The love.
The kindness.
Before it turned to
The hate.
The anger.
And the constant fear.
I remember betrayal.
I always remember the emotions.
I don’t remember,
Screaming…
Begging for help,
And lashing out.
But I do remember,
The taunting darkness.
The hurt.
The panic.
The need to just
Get away.
I remember fear.
I always remember the emotions.
I don’t remember,
The nights I cried,
Sobbing myself to sleep.
But I do remember,
The pain.
The twinge of anger.
And the aching cold
In my heart,
That lasted 6 years.
I remember depression.
I always remember the emotions.
I don’t remember,
The time I realized it.
But I remember,
That my pain?
It started with you.
And though I forgive you,
As much as I can.
I remember.
I always remember the emotions,
And I always remember you.
