The Dreaded Assignment
As I sit in English class, I listen to Ms. D explain
Another.
Poem.
Assignment.
Oh god, not another poem.
As everyone begins working, And starts writing
I sit there looking into space,
My brain a desolate place,
My mind wandering of into nothing.
I listen to everyone talk about their ideas,
And listen to the click of a keyboard,
The sound of my fellow classmates,
Typing away, completing their assignments,
Looks like it’s going to be another late night of writing for me.
I sit there and think
Where do I start?
And Then I realize, I’m already done.
