The Drug

Brown eyes, crooked nose

Dirts pipes, lost souls

Mistakes are made the trigger is pulled
For he thought he was allowed because the world is cold

A father of two, a mother of three, a brother in a family of four
This disease will not cease without a open hand from you or me

Whiskey on his breath now he can't see the hands out for him
New car every week same tree every time
His life flashes before his eyes but doesn't cry
Pushes forward into that dirty water filling his lungs with smoke

Unable to continue not knowing where to go
Not realizing he always had a room waiting at home

They will steal and cheat just so they can rot out their teeth
This won't change just by prayer and belief

For he didn't want this path
To look at the end of a barrel because he believes he has failed
Only if he would have shared cause we all cared

This happens to not just one so be careful you might think it is fun
But one day you could be the one holding that gun

Forgetting about the family you love
The baby boy that wasn't even old enough to run
The kids that don't get to know you because you decided to do drugs
So try hard my friend not to be the next one
You have loved ones that are there
They really do care
I cared
