Ghazal

My day always begins after noon.

There’s not much to do, so I often listen to a tune and seek good news in the afternoon.

After breakfast, I procrastinate studying to keep my mind fresh.

Everyday I manage to convince myself that another nap would be good to refresh at noontime.

I’m submerged in laziness, and try my best to be productive.

I can try to learn something new

but Instagram is too seductive (enticing), especially at noon.

I’m not in school but I still attend classes.

Dishwashing 1 honors and AP Vacuuming are my least favorite classes to do in the afternoon.

As the hours pass and my eyes slowly shut,

The moon rotates the earth and I start another day waking up at noon.

This piece was inspired by my daily routine during the quarantine and my experience with staying at home. Enjoy!
