Red leaves hover down
like burning maroon paper
frail candles on trees.
On the ground lie
the ashes of burnt candles
trees that shed their leaves.
Marigold paper
cascade en masse from trees
silver hands reach out.
Fair white fingers pluck,
grasping crinkled, paper thin
clingy rubbish bits.
Spinning pieces of
dead leaves drop to earth
Fall is in the air.
