Begin to Break
In the dead of night, I awake,
I feel my heart begin to ache.
Was it a dream or is this real?
All this pain that I feel.
I look to the side where you are gone,
All the rights that were wrong.
A tear begins to slide down my cheek,
Are all other girls always this weak?
I remember your touch; your warm embrace,
How you're gone without a trace.
I gasp for air I held inside,
You'll never know how my soul had died.
In this cold, dark room, I look around,
You were gone without a sound.
You had left without a word,
But a million whispers could be heard.
I watched you leave without a glance behind,
Not a bit of sorrow would I find.
I watched slowly as the door had closed,
All the wounds that are now exposed.
I felt like I was bleeding from the inside out,
You are what I am without.
In the dead of night, I awake,
I can feel my heart begin to break.
