Adventures of Boredom
I'm so achingly tired
But I can't go to bed
There's so many fun things
I'd rather do instead
Like play the next level
Of my new video game
Or attach the next wing
To my aviator plane
But mom gets so pushy
That I almost have no choice
So it's off to bed I go
With no fun to enjoy
As the minutes tick by
My brain is still alert
Boredom is driving me insane
So I know what I'll do first!
I creep out of the covers
Press my ear against the door
The only sound I hear
Is my father's loud snore
I sneak down the stairs
Avoiding every creaky step
Then down into the darkness
Of our very scary basement
I made it at last!
Now it's time to have fun!
"What do you think you're doing?"
Uh-ho, the freedom is done
I'm off to bed once again
Oh the covers feel so nice
Maybe I'll sneak out tomorrow
But for now, Goodnight!
