A smart man solves a problem, a wise man avoids it.

Grief

is a clever fox,

sneaking into your mind,

justwhen you have forgotten.

Tearing at your insides,

the nature of the hungry animal,

feeding on your tears as you cry,

because dry eyes are too formal.

Grief is a clever fox.

Hurry up and stop it,

before it stops your clock.

I like this poem because I can relate to it. I understand it, and I can truly feel the emotions that are trying to be set out. I specifically can relate to the line, “Grief is a clever fox, sneaking into your mind, just when you have forgotten.” I know what it’s like to finally let go of the grief and the second it is forgotten, it comes back.
