A Compassionate Lie
i can't look at myself too deep,
if i do i'll never return
sometimes i cry in my sleep,
it's only because the past burns.
when you take my hand,
i swiftly pull away
i don't see your footprints in the sand,
you never seem to stay.
you only see the outside,
never looking in
so i'm sorry if i lied,
but lyings not a sin.
