Butterfly
Verse 1:
Butterfly flying through the morning sky.
You once fixed my broken wings, and taught me how to fly.
Before my wings were broken, and my spirit too.
I was alone in this world and didn't know what to do.
Chorus 1:
Now all that is over.
We're starting something new.
I thought we were both happy.
But I guess we bit off more than we could chew.
So go and see your friends, and go and have your "time."
Leave me here with nothing but the famous break up lines.
Verse 2:
You once told me how you’d always be my friend.
Oh, how quickly all that came to an end.
False promises of forever and always.
Now my head and heart are in a daze.
Chorus 2:
So when will this be over?
We’re starting something new.
I thought we both were satisfied.
Now I don’t know what to do.
So go and take a shot at being single, and do the things you want to do.
Leave me here at this closed door, without any way through.
Verse 3:
Butterfly flying through the nighttime sky.
See the tears fall from tired eyes.
She once believed in happily ever after.
Now she knows it was all lies, not laughter.
So go and see all your friends.
Go and take your “time.”
Go do all the things you want to do.
While I put my wings back together in the meantime.
