Cradle Song
Hush hush on the tree tops
When the wind blows the cradle will rock
Nobody to sing to her
Nobody with her to talk
Just some minor condolence
When the wind starts blowin’
That her tree won’t break
And she won’t die, yes she’s goin’
‘Cause her tree is her cradle
And her cradle is her home
And she’s ‘fraid that her cradle will fall
And she’ll be alone
And down, down she’ll be goin’
When the wind starts blowin’
And she’s carried ‘way on the breeze
She screams freeze
My cradle is fallin’
And to me it’s callin’
I need something to hold when I’m on my own
And my cradle is the closest thing I have to a home
So into the wind she dives
‘Cause the world is deaf to her cries
And down, down she does fall
With her cradle and all
And her cradle breaks on the ground
